A passer-by on Wednesday attacked a Russian reporter live on air as he did a broadcast on the annual Paratroopers Day celebrations at Gorky Park in Moscow.
Nikita Razvozzhayev who works with pro-Kremlin NTV channel had just started a report on the occasion when a drunk man walked up to him and started swearing.
When the journalist asked him to be quiet, the man angrily punched him hard in the jaw and sent him staggering sideways.
The victim was said to be describing the paratroopers as heroes in his report, saying: ‘Nobody celebrates their day like them,’ when the incident occurred.
The attacker interrupted the reporter, saying; ‘We’ll take Ukraine,’ and when the reporter told him to be quiet, he punched the reporter, saying ‘Who are you to talk to me in that way.’
As the reporter held the side of his face while staggering, his attacker followed him as he continued to shout.
He said: ‘If you are going to talk to me like that I will f***ing beat you
The attacker who is said to be ex-paratrooper was arrested soon after the incident.
