Suspect Arrested For Allegedly ‘Killing’ Driver

A 25-year old man, Alonna Onuigwe, has been arrested by the police for allegedly killing a trailer driver at Oba in Anambra State.

The deceased, Felix Aigbogie, 23, an indigene of Calabar in Cross Rivers State, was reportedly killed on Onitsha/Owerri Road about 2am following a scuffle.

The Correspondent learnt that the suspect, of Umumpama village, Oba in Idemili South Local Government conspired with his accomplices to attack the driver.

Confirming the incident, police spokesman Haruna Mohammed said the suspect had been arrested, adding that his accomplices were at large.

He said: “On December 7, about 9:30pm, detectives attached to Ojoto Division arrested Alonna Onuigwe, male, 25, of Umumpama village, Oba in Idemili South Local Government of Anambra State.

“The suspect allegedly conspired with others at large, attacked and killed a trailer driver, Felix Aigbogie, male, 23, of Calabar, Cross Rivers State,” he said.

Mohammed said the case was being investigated to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.

“Efforts are on to nab fleeing suspects and bring them to justice,” he said.
