Police Arrest 2 Suspected Abductors In Katsina
A two-man gang of suspected kidnappers, who operates in Safana areas and its environs in Katsina State have been arrested after they abducted a 70-year-old woman, Hauwa Usman, in Old Garin Wazirin, Safana local government area.
The police public relations officer in the state, Superintendent Isah Gambo, who confirmed this in a statement Katsina, said that the suspects, Abubakar Yusuf, 40, and Abubakar Mansur, 40, of Unguwar Gwanda, were arrested last Wednesday following a tip-off.
Though the statement did not outline how the kidnapped victim was rescued, it stated that the woman had identified the hoodlums to be the duo that abducted her, adding that the suspects had confessed to the crime while investigation continues.
The command also confirmed the arrest of a suspected car snatcher, Mohammed Sani, 28, in possession of a silver colour Toyota Highlander, while trying to cross into Niger Republic last Monday. Sani, a resident of Akwanga local government area of Nasarawa State was reportedly nabbed at about 8.30am with the support of a good Samaritan.
“In the course of investigation, the suspect confessed to have robbed the said vehicle with others at large at gunpoint in Jos, Plateau State. Investigation is on-going,” the police said.
