Yusuf Joseph, a student, was robbed of N150,000 by two hoodlums, Sodeeq Adegoke, 24, and Abubakar Ajibola, 24, according to the Ondo state police.
One of the suspects, Adegoke, admitted to having ambushed the victim on the street last Friday, April 14, at 11 am, and leading him to a deserted place inside the Government Reservation place in the state capital while being paraded at the state police headquarters on Monday, April 17.
“We stopped his motorcycle and jumped on it, forced him to a deserted area in the GRA where we forced him to transfer N150,000 into Ajibola’s account number. We already spent N85,000 on the money. We forced him to unlock his phone where we discovered he has money in it and coerced him to transfer the stated sum of money”. he said
The N150,000, according to the other suspect, was actually sent into his account, despite his assertion that he was not a part of the attack.
The victim, who revealed that the money was for his school tuition, claimed the two attacked him and took him to a desolate place where they threatened to break his head if he did not give them the money.
The suspects will be presented in court after the investigations are finished, according to the state police command.
