Tramadol, Rohypnol, Ecstasy (designer drug), and Cannabis were intercepted by NDLEA operatives at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, Ikeja, Lagos.
According to a statement released by the anti-drug agency’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, the psychoactive substances were recovered at the airport’s new terminal on Friday 14th April, following the arrest of a passenger, Joshia Sunday, who was traveling on a Qatar Airline flight via Doha to Oman, Middle East.
A thorough search of the suspect’s two black bags revealed 4.80 kilograms of cannabis hidden in three winter jackets, as well as various amounts of Tramadol, Rohypnol, and Ecstasy (designer drug) hidden in bottles of body lotion. According to preliminary investigations, the suspect entered Nigeria from Oman on April 7 and was scheduled to return exactly a week later.
