Herdsmen Hack 4 Police Officers To Death In Benue
The herdsmen menace is now moving away from only villages and villagers being targets of attacks, as security operatives are now not spared.
4 Police officers were reportedly killed in an attack, launched by herdsmen in at Anyibe, in Logo Local Government Area of Benue state. Confirming the attack, the command’s spokesperson ASP Moses Yamu, said Logo and Guma local government areas have been under severe attacks of suspected Fulani herdsmen since the New Year, resulting in loss of lives.
According to Yamu, the killed Policemen came under the fire of insurgents at Anyibe, Logo LGA between 18.00 hours of Sunday and early Monday morning.
The Police spokesperson who further stated that the herdsmen behind the attack will be arrested soon as additional reinforcement, including the air asset of the Police, have been deployed by Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, concluded his statement by saying;
“Sadly at the moment, four casualties have been suffered by Police.”
