Reports suggest Ronaldo could make a return to Manchester United. The 33-year-old will be looking to win his fifth Champions League title Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly considering a stunning move to former club Manchester United. The 33-year-old left Old Trafford for Real Madrid in 2009 after a glittering six year spell with the Red Devils. Despite his departure, reports have always linked the Portuguese could be set to make a stunning return. United have twice tried to re-sign the Portugal international in 2013 and 2015 respectively but to no avail.

Diario Gol claim Ronaldo is considering a shock exit from the Bernabeu nine years after his departure from United and that is reportedly because Jose Mourinho is far from happy at the club. Mourinho’s side lost by a lone goal to Chelsea in the FA Cup final at the weekend played at the Wembley stadium. United could overhaul their squad this summer because of their disappointing Premier League campaign finishing 19 points behind Manchester City. According to Diario Gol, Ronaldo could return to the club because of President Florentino Perez’ reluctance to hand him a new contract. The Portugal captain is understood to be craving an extension that grants him pay parity with Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and PSG’s Neymar.

And if the offer is refused by Real a stunning United return could be on the cards in the summer. Ronaldo is currently gearing up for his fourth Champions League final appearance in five years. Ronaldo admitted he would prefer Los Blancos facing his former club instead of the showdown with Liverpool “Finals are always special occasions, I would have preferred it to be Manchester United,” Ronaldo said. “But Liverpool deserve respect. We’re not going to have it easy. They deserve to be in the final. “They remind me of Madrid three or four years ago. Their three front players, they’re very quick… they are powerful in attack and I respect them. “But Madrid are better. We have to play to our level, but we also have to respect the opposition.” The final of the Champions League is set to take place on Saturday, May, 26, in Kiev and Ronaldo will be looking to win his fifth title in his career.
